Pick Your Own Strawberries
Month of June
3 litre and 4 litre picking baskets are provided.
Pick red strawberries of all sizes to fill your baskets. Do not overfill baskets – you don’t want to bruise the berries.
Pick Your Own Peas
End of June - beginning of July
Litre, 3 litre, 4 litre, 7 litre, and 11 quart baskets are provided to pick into.
Pick pea pods from the bottom of the plant as they mature first.
Store peas in a bag, in your fridge for 3 or 4 days.
Pick Your Own Raspberries
Beginning of July to middle of July
2 litre and 3 litre picking baskets are provided
If temperatures are very hot, raspberries will ripen overnight, so don’t wait. Raspberries ripen evenly at the top, middle, and bottom of the cane so move leaves back to harvest evenly. The Raspberry will pull off easily from the inner core when ripe. Do not overfill baskets – you don’t want to crush the berries on the bottom.
Pick Your Own Green & Yellow Beans
Middle of July - September
Litre, 3 litre, 4 litre, 7 litre, and 11 quart baskets are provided to pick into.
Pick firm not lumpy beans with good colour. Pull the bean from the plant along the stem; keep picked beans out of direct sunlight and in a cool place until you get home.
Store your beans in a bag in the fridge for about 3 or 4 days.
Pick Your Own Blueberries
Middle of July to Middle of August
Pick your own blueberries are sold by weight. We provide pails with bag liners to pick in and transport your bagged blueberries home. Stop at the market before heading back to the field to get pails with bag liners.
Pick Your Own Peaches
Month of August
7 litre, and 11 quart baskets are provided to pick into.
You do need to bring your own boxes to transport your peaches home.
Peaches are within arm’s reach so you do not need a ladder. Pick peaches that have a golden flesh and red blush. Peaches on the top outside branches will ripen first.
Our peach varieties are considered freestone. This means the flesh comes off the pit easily when picked ripe.
